It’s not an Oscars party without a star-studded line-up. Invite your guests to attend the big bash with a glamorous Paperless Post invite. Don’t forget the dress code! Encourage your guests to dress to match a movie that is nominated for your own red carpet moment. Rock the 60s fashion from Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, your best gangster attire a la The Irishman, or don racing stripes like Ford V Ferrari.

After your guests have walked the red carpet in their stunning outfits, have them fill out an Oscars ballot. Add a little friendly competition to the voting by awarding a prize to whoever has the most accurate ballot at the end of the night. Print out copies of our free downloadable ballot for everyone to fill out with their favorite nominees and place them in a custom ballot box.
To Create a Ballot Box
Use one of our beautiful gift boxes and cut a slit at the top to allow voters to slide in their ballots. For a little decoration, we made a pennant banner using a Uniball Silver Gel Pen, a 1/8″ hole punch, black paper, washi tape, and baker’s twine. Supply pens next to the box along with plenty of ballots so everyone can cast their votes.

Like last year, the show is hostless- so tune in and watch the festivities unfold in real-time with surprise appearances. Make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand while watching all the moving acceptance speeches.
Don’t forget plenty of snacks if you’re going to make it all the way to the Best Picture announcement. When the show is over, see how everyone’s votes tallied up and declare the winner of this year’s Oscars Viewing Party. You could even give an award to the person who got the least amount correct- the Joker Award. As you hand them their very own Oscar, prepare for a hilarious acceptance speech. We’ve come up with a quick and easy way to make Oscar statues to award to the winners of the night.
Cut out the Oscar silhouette from our free download and trace the shape over two pieces of Antique Gold paper. Cut out your two silhouettes. Next cut a slit halfway down the center of one of the silhouettes. Cut halfway up the center of the other silhouette, until reaching the point where you stopped cutting the first statue. Join the two silhouettes together at the slits to make a three-dimensional statue. Use tape to secure the two pieces together. Cut a strip of black paper and label it with an award for the night. We used the Uniball Silver Gel Pen. Tape the black strip around the Oscar statue into a ring and your statue is ready! Prepare a collection of various awards to make the winning even more fun.
Decorate with one of our prep kits for a cohesive look or get creative with and mix and match from our collection of plates and napkins. You could even play a movie-themed game during the commercials by having your friends add their spin to classic movie quotes.
