Each year when we launch our new Wedding Invitation Collection in stores, our crafts team builds wonderful wedding inspiration boards to share with our store customers. They create DIY options to enhance the wedding invitations and we thought our online customers would also love to see, so here you go!

We Love Weddings, We Do, We Do!
All the creativity surrounding weddings is so inspiring! Flowers, pretty dresses, great food, cake, heartfelt moments…what’s not to love?! But we must say, our most favorite part is the invitation and stationery.

Guest blogger: A birch & bluebirds wedding
My sister Carla and her husband Kevin met in high school and got married in the White Mountains of New Hampshire last August. Carla knew from the start that she wanted birds to play a major role in her theme, and for her colors to be “blue, shades of blue, maybe blue and some bluish greens, but mostly just blues.” As straightforward as that sounds, it was amazing how many different “blues” we considered before agreeing on a final palette!

I got engaged and laid off in the same week…in that order. Rather than being entirely saddened by a job loss (well, a little bit), I thought, “Well, now I’ll have time to make all 200 of our wedding invitations, response cards, rehearsal invitations, and open house cards by hand!” Oh, and I didn’t stop there. I also proceeded to make 200 save the dates, 200 reception place cards, and one gigantic paper sunflower, all through the creative inspiration provided by Paper Source! I actually visited the River North location in Chicago so often that my husband (then fiance, of course) called “paper-sourcing” my new job!

If you ever feel nostalgic for those sticker collections of early childhood, then let me introduce you to my new crafty best friend, the Xyron Create A Sticker. It brings back memories of carefree days and transforms all sorts of beautiful paper into stickers I can use for grown-up things like cards, files, books, and other craft projects. Recently, I found an even more practical use for my Xyron – making labels! This is not your mother’s old one-font label maker – you can print any font, shape, and color that you want, turn it into a sticker, and label to your heart’s content.
I used my newfound labeling skills to spruce up the envelopes for a friend’s bridal shower invitations. The wrap-around address labels were the finishing touch that the invitations needed to make them look complete and professionally crafted. It was all courtesy of my Xyron, a little imagination, and other crafting essentials (awesome postage stamps never hurt either!).

Paper Source Workshop: Wedding Suites
We had such a great turn out for our Paper Wedding and Morning Tea events. What fun it was to show off our new wedding invitation collection, as well as to have the chance for our customers to experiment with wedding rubber stamps and assorted stamp pads at the demo and make & take tables.

Paper Wedding – February 20 & 21
This year celebrates the 5 year Anniversary of our signature Bridal Event—Paper Wedding! To give you some background on the events’ inception we have to reflect upon the notion that “Good things come in small packages.” Indeed, it was our wonderful little store in Kansas City that provided the testing grounds for our first ever wedding event, and ultimately the proof that brides would love a weekend full of wedding inspiration.
This year our Paper Wedding open house event has been expanded to two full days. Join us this weekend Saturday, February 20 & Sunday, February 21 from 12pm to 4pm, for demonstrations, to see our walls of wedding inspiration, and partake in a few hands-on rubber stamping opportunities. We feel certain we will inspire even the most traditional bride to “do something creative every day!”
