Sending Love Across the globe: How Writing Postcards to Kids Can Spark Curiosity About Travel
In house post cards enthusiast..... Carolyn finds joy in writing postcards during her travels around the world. She's shared the beloved tradition with the little ones in her life, and now they've started sending postcards back to her!
How do you stay connected with your loved ones?
"One of my favorite ways to stay connected with the kids in my life is by sending them postcards from wherever my travels take me. When I was a kid, there was something so exciting about getting mail, and I love sharing that joy with the little ones today. If I'm traveling within the US, I'll buy stamps ahead of time and always have a pen on hand. As soon as we arrive at our destination, I seek out postcards, and whenever there's a bit of downtime - whether it's grabbing coffee or heading to the next stop - I take the time to write them, sharing what we're seeing and what's truly capturing my attention at the moment."
Greetings from Abroad
"Traveling abroad adds an extra layer of excitement, as I get to explore the charm of unique, beautiful postal offices along the way! I also love hearing their excitement when the kids receive the postcards. They ask about how I got to the destination, what I ate, and when they can visit these places themselves. It's such a special way for us to connect through our shared curiosity for travel, which is one of my favorite things. I've even started receiving postcards from them as they embark on their own travel adventures, and their adorable handwriting turns each postcard into a treasured keepsake."
