After you have chosen the perfect wedding invitations, the next step is to also choose a response or RSVP card to go with it. Wedding RSVP cards are typically mailed to guests along with the wedding invitation and a pre-stamped envelope so that guests can easily RSVP yes or no to your event. RSVP stands for the French phrase “Répondez, s’il vous plaît” which translates to “Respond, please.”
Wedding RSVP cards should include a line for guests to write their names, the number of seats reserved, the deadline to RSVP, choice of entrée (optional), and an accept/regret line.
If there is an “M” with a line for you to fill in, you should add your title (Mrs, Miss, Ms, Mr.) followed by your full name. If you’re a couple, you can write it out as “Mr. & Mrs [last name]”. You should also fill in the number of guests who will be attending or not attending. Keep in mind that you should not write down more guests than the number invited on the invitation or RSVP card, and if a plus one is invited and attending, you should include their full name as well.

Most wedding venues will require a headcount for your big day, therefore it’s important to get your guests to RSVP with a response card. While RSVPs can be done online, your guests still need a way to find the URL, so you could always send RSVP cards that they can use to type in the website and respond online.
It is best to send RSVP cards with the wedding invitation so that guests have all of the information at one time and in one place and can easily check their calendar and respond accordingly.
