Virtual Workshop: Accordion Book and Color Theory with Lisa Solomon
Join artist and author Lisa Solomon for a zoom of bookmaking, color exploration and conversation inspired by her new book, ART, CRAFT, COLOR.
ART, CRAFT, COLOR offers twenty creative projects that celebrate the many ways color impacts creative practice and everyday life. In class, we'll begin by learning e bond’s Accordion Book format, transforming a single large sheet of paper into a book that we’ll be using to explore our PaperSource Colorscope - and some basics of color theory and palette building. We'll warm up with basic practice in watercolor - swatching your colors and learning about saturation/water control, color mixing, and brush work. Then we’ll pick our current Colorscope color and use our watercolor set to:
a. Match that color b. Create a tint and shade of that color c. Find analogous and compliments to that color.
Each participant will leave with a new handmade book to continue their watercolor/colorscope explorations, along with a greater understanding of color as a tool for reflection, relaxation and inspiration!
