DIY Decorative Paper Journal

Craft an accordion-fold journal cover with the talented DIY creator, Roxy @paper_rox_scissors.

Choose your favorite sheets of decorative paper, some fold over cards and an empty cereal box or chipboard and you are ready to craft! Follow along here:

Create a Decorative Paper Journal

Step 1: Using adhesive, attach three folded cards together to create an accordion shape. This will form the inside pages of your personalized journal. 

Step 2: Cut a piece of cereal box or chipboard down to card size to use as your cover.

Step 3: Cover your cutout with decorative paper. Apply PVA glue to the cardboard, then place it onto your chosen fine paper. Trim the corners of the fine paper, fold the edges neatly over the board and glue them down. Use a bone folder to smooth out any bumps for a clean finish.

Step 4: Cut your desired ribbon length and tape it to the inside of the cover, this will act as your closure. 

Step 5: Attach the covers to the accordion-folded pages. Apply PVA glue, press firmly, and hold to ensure they're securely in place.

Step 6: Once dry, fill your journal with memories, then tie the ribbon into a bow to keep everything safe inside!
