"After watching Claire in Bon Appétit’s YouTube channel for a few years I was very excited to learn she was releasing a cookbook. This book includes a wide variety of recipes for bakers of all skill levels. This and her other book, What’s for Dessert, are my two go-to’s for any special occasion!"
"Bought this cookbook when it first came out and have cooked about 15 recipes from it. The carrot cake recipe is the best carrot cake I've ever had and my other go-to's are the salted halvah blondies and cranberry mousse pie. My favorite cookbook by a mile."
"I did not receive a free copy like many of the reviewers of Dessert Person. I originally hesitated to buy it because I did not see myself making many of these recipes. . . However, after viewing Claire’s YouTube Dessert Person videos, I bought a copy. I love the book, it might be the only recipe book I actually read. When I received a copy, I was impressed by the quality of the book, definitely worth the price (although it would’ve been fun to have a signed copy). While I haven’t finished reading or testing the recipes yet, Claire’s smart and personable style comes through. . . I became a fan during quarantine. I hope she makes a video on the spelt croissants because I could use the help there. Like the other reviewers mentioned, there is a recipe matrix which helps you tackle what you have time for. . . or the challenge your ready to embrace. Well done!! I’m excited because I am a dessert person, too!"
"What a spectacular baking book! With recipes that are given a level of difficulty from very easy to very difficult, this book is accessible to everyone - and allows the reader to choose their own adventure and improve upon their skills. The sour cream and chive rolls are a wonder of soft, butter, chivey, salty goodness - and the brioche? Oh, the brioche! Makes the best French toast and I can only imagine how it will be toasted for BLTs when tomatoes are back in season. Do yourself a favor and get this book! I've received a free copy from Clarkson Potter in exchange for a free and unbiased review."
"What a treat this book is! Full of insight, tips and it is as beautiful as it is helpful. It is the perfect book or gift for anyone who likes to make or eat dessert. Let the holiday baking begin. I've received a free copy of this book from Clarkson Potter in exchange for a free and unbiased review. Lucky me!"

"This is a beautiful book. There are many fabulous recipes with great photos also. It also includes basic baking information about how to bake desserts and the required supplies to do so. There are some unique ingredients that may be difficult to find though. I received a free copy from Clarkson Potter in exchange for a free and unbiased review."

"{I've received a free copy from @clarksonpotter for in exchange for a free and unbiased review} I'm definitely a dessert person, so I was super excited when this one showed up! I love that this one is organized with a chart at the beginning that lays out the time commitment and difficultly level of each recipe. I think of myself as a fairly competent baker but I just don't always have unlimited time in the kitchen, so this is super helpful. I tried out the Double Apple Crumble Cake to start and this was very good! The addition of apple butter as well as sliced apples helped punch up the apple flavor and that crumb (drooling, I could eat that on its own)! This will definitely be one I look at for special occasions and daily baking alike."
