recipes like BLT and other things a toddler can do

"There are three different quiche recipes that use the exact same recipe, just different fillings, and even a recipe for a BLT and the only thing she ‘adds’ to the recipe is homemade mayo. There’s also a recipe for grits that teach you to just buy quick, cooking grits and heat it up! Very disappointed in the ‘recipes’ in this book"

It’s a beautiful book but that’s it.

"I bought this because it was such a pretty book and I like Fixer Upper. The recipes looked like normal options for family meals. The issue is that all the ones I have tried lack a lot of flavor. This is probably because she is not a chef - understanding herbs and spices would help to add more flavoring to what initially looks like a good lineup of recipes and a pretty book."

Nothing special

"I am surprised so many people like this cookbook. I have cooked 4-5 recipes and only one was ok and it was just a bunch of cans thrown together in a crockpot. I think this book looks better sitting on a shelf than the actual recipes."

I Love This Cookbook!

"I love this cookbook. Not only does it have recipes, but it also has beautiful full color pictures, stories pertaining to the recipes, & helpful notes. The recipes are things that everyday people can make. No unknown hard to find ingredients or fancy techniques needed. I love that I can make nearly everything in this cookbook with what I already keep in my house on a regular basis. Who knew I could make so many things with what I have on hand??? The book itself is of really good quality. It's a great size, has a sturdy hard cover, classic black binding, and nice thick pages. I already have Joanna's second cookbook ordered!"

"Of all my more recent cookbook purchases I think I will actually use this one. The recipes are ones most would eat and the ingredients I would probably have. Nicely presented and fun to read as well. So many cookbooks have ingredients that are just not in most households and too long to prepare. This one is practical, useful."

FAMILY RECIPES! Joanna Gaines’ Cookbook is filled with delicious . . .

"FAMILY RECIPES! Joanna Gaines’ Cookbook is filled with delicious recipes from her family and her extended family. Think of it as if you were sharing your family’s beloved best loved recipes and this is what you get! I’ve read a ton of reviews that don’t like it because she uses Uncle Ben’s Wild Rice, canned soups, real butter, whole milk and other such ingredients. My husband’s from Louisiana and his favorite Chef (he owns ALL his autographed Cookbooks!) and one of his main ingredients is heavy whipping cream! If you don’t like those ingredients, ADJUST! Most of us are busy and appreciate all the shortcuts we can get. Again, these are their Family Recipes and our Favorite is Baked Chicken with Bacon Bottom and Wild Rice. There are so many more that are on our list to try! Here’s another TIP: If you’re having trouble keeping your Cookbook open, just take a photo of the Recipe with your phone. It serves 2 purposes. 1)When you go to the Grocery, you’ll already have your List of Ingredients with you. 2)You can use your Recipe on your phone or tablet while you cook or print it off."

"I love this cookbook for a number of reasons. It is beautifully written with lots of pictures of food and family. The recipes are very uncomplicated and everyone that I tried I had the ingredients for in the house. I am so happy with this cookbook and it is my favorite ""go to"" cookbook. Everything I have tried has been super good."

"If you like Fixer Upper, you will enjoy reading this book. The recipes look simple enough to make for a busy lifestyle. However, if you are wanting to eat healthy, be aware that Joanna uses tons of butter, cream and sugar. This is not for the dieter! Everything looks and sounds delicious. I bought as a gift and it was a big hit."
