"I promised myself I would not be precious about my writing notebooks. Just move on to the next one in your stash, I told myself. I bought this, despite the only available version being green—a color I tend to associate with balance sheets, not big ideas. I was looking for orange, my go-to for inspiration. But once I used this perfectly sized notebook, with its indestructible cover, satisfyingly just-right paper weight, and elastic closure strap, I couldn't imagine writing in anything else. These notebooks hold my daily morning pages, my writing exercises, my rough drafts, my ever-expanding TBR lists, and, on the rare occasions I take notes in meetings unrelated to writing, I can rip out the page, scan it into Evernote, and move forward. I am partial to the dark green cover with wavy lines, but I always order any available limited editions when purchasing "the usual," so if it's ever out of stock, I will have backups! Maybe someday that edition will sport an orange cover!"
