Reviews

Let Them was an original concept by Cassie Phillip

"What in the name of Charlatans has Mel Robins become? Unoriginal, narcissistic, and self-absorbed to the extreme, Let Them is a stolen concept from a Ms. Cassie Phillips, that Ms. Mel Robins liked so much, she built a brand around it and wrote this unoriginal, uninspired book. When she refers to herself as a “hot blonde” it is maximum cringe Way better books by more authentic and original human beings."

Overhyped and extremely repetitive

"One chapter will get you what you need to know, everything else is extremely redundant. For an inspirational speaker she has some odd bullying tendencies. Using her daughter‘s body image as an example of why you should use” let them” theory made me uncomfortable as a reader. The phrase “let them” has to be said at least 1 billion times in this book. I had to stop reading it a couple chapters in and gave it away. For someone who reads a lot of books on personal growth this one is very disappointing and definitely should be skipped. It is uninspired and unoriginal."

Not impressed

"With all the suggestions and rave reviews I was very disappointed. The “Let them theory was extremely basic advice that can’t really be applied to anything other than a surface level relationship. If you’re going into this book with having gone to therapy or have complex trauma and relationship problems the book will come off as almost silly. Was not a fan unfortunately. The first 15% of the book is basically an introduction that rambles on."

Not worth it

"Couldn’t finish this book and I usually love any kind of self help book. The information in this book is so surface level. There’s no reason for this “theory” to have a whole book. I thought they’d include more substance."

Huge Fan… Just not of this book

"I am a huge fan of the Mel Robbin’s podcast and genuinely enjoy hearing applications of the Let Them Theory in that context. The book did not offer new information beyond what’s available in her podcast content. The substance of the book is lacking with the only value being in the first couple of chapters. The idea of Let Them was not really Mel Robbins’ to “coin. ” I understand that hearing an idea you’ve already heard said in a new way can be life-changing, but this book is not the place to have your light bulb moment of deeper understanding."

LET ME

"After seeing some negative reviews, I had to give my two cents & encourage people to read this book and consider the whole mantra that Mel writes about in the book - Let Them, now Let ME. This book is not about letting people do whatever they want. . . it's about focusing on what YOU can control. I listened to the audiobook and it really stuck with me. I am going to purchase the physical book so I can tab and highlight my favorite parts I need to remember."

Game changer

"I had to review this book after reading the negative reviews but as Mel says LET THEM ! I love the honest perspective that she gives and this book has helped me change in many ways ! I now feel confident and if someone judges , LET THEM!"

Such a great book!

"I read this book for an English assignment and expected not to like it. I'm not really one for reading self help books because they don't usually catch my attention. I can proudly say that is not the case for this book. Let Them had me hooked on the very first page. What I love about this book is that it is so relatable to everyone. The strategies she explains help with self doubt, over thinking, and control issues. She teaches that you don't need to understand or control what people think, say, or do. You just need to ""Let Them"" Let them think what they think and say what they say. I highly recommend this book to anyone of any age, but I think that it would be more influential towards the teens that read it. I know for a fact that teenagers are so caught up in what other people think that even their own opinions don't matter to them. I think this book would help them be more confident in themselves and more open to just being them. The strategies are easy to follow and will honestly change lives if you follow through with them."
