We’re off to the races in just a couple of days and if you’re like us, you’ve been so focused on the promises of Mint Juleps that you completely forgot about one key fashion item for the Derby: your fascinator! The crafter in us found a solution with 2 quick Kentucky Derby fascinators that are easy to make but still have that “wow” factor. Take a peek below for 2 ideas you can make in a snap!
The Flowery Bow
What You’ll Need
- A Headband
- Washi Tape
- Wildflower Flat Sheet Wrapping Paper
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Our Bow Template
Directions
- Print and cut our our bow template. Once finished, trace the template onto the Wildflower flat sheet (or any paper of your choosing). If you’d like the bow to be larger, simply enlarge the template when tracing onto the paper.
- Take the bow loops piece and bring both ends to the center to create the bow loops. Adhere with a dot of hot glue.
- With a dot of hot glue, attach the bow loops piece to the bow base. Then, wrap the bow center around the center of the base and loops and close on the back with a dot of hot glue.
- Next, wrap your headband with your selection of washi tape.
- Secure the paper bow to the headband with hot glue and let dry.
